Learning Network | Education Initiative Group Discussions
Welcome to the Education LN Initiative Group!
Over the last year AIESEC International has been developing the concept of networked learning in the form of Learning Networks. LNs are networks of individuals at different stages of their AIESEC experience. These networks are formed around specific topics, issues, themes which are of relevance to the current state of the world & need pioneering leadership. LNs provide individuals with the platform required to help them develop their knowledge, understanding, skill & willingness to create change in their area of interest & passion.
The relevance of choosing Education as a topic is the need to change the world of education. We aim to bring together diverse stakeholders to ensure we realize this unique opportunity of creating a new type of leadership. Education for all cannot be achieved without dramatic improvements in the quality of learning. In many countries, a large gap exists between the number of students graduating from school and those among them mastering a minimum set of cognitive skills. What are the key factors and strategies that influence quality of teaching and learning in poorer countries? Education is the key to the new global economy, from primary school on up to life-long learning. It is central to development, social progress and human freedom.
The 1st step towards making this a reality was the formation of the Education LN Initiative Group. Over the last 2 months countries in the Initiative Group have been busy putting together their involvement plans. After the compilation of these plans it is now time to activate this learning platform.
This Education LN Initiative Group Community is going to be the hub of activity in the near future. It is meant to serve as a platform for participants of the Learning Network to share & reflect on their learning and also to help IG countries to network amongst themselves, share ideas & resources for activity at the local & national level.
